In exercise of its powers under Section 76 (6) of the Electric Power Sector Reform Act 2005 and all other powers enabling it in that behalf, the Nigerian electricity Regulatory Commission adopted the Multi-year tariff Order (MYTO) methodology for electricity pricing in Nigeria, which sets out the basis and pricing principles and procedures to effect minor and major review.
In the light of the above, Section 5.3 of the Multi-Year Tariff Order which provides for the Determination of the Cost of Electricity sold by Distribution/Retail Companies for the period 1st June 2012 to 31st May 2017, requires that given the urgency of the reform /privatization agenda and also having regard to the unreliable data from which aggregate losses are calculated, it became necessary for the distribution companies to carry out the ATC&C data base study and customer verification to determine the baseline losses during the 12 months preceding hand over to new owners, subject to the NERC’s revalidation and approval.
Accordingly, the ATC&C data base study and customer number verification exercise have been concluded by the Discos and verified by the Commission.
In view of this, the public and all stakeholders are hereby invited to a stakeholder’s meeting on the final presentation of the findings and results of the ATC&C and its impact on retail tariff:
