Adeyemi (‘Yemi) Akisanya is a CEDR Accredited Mediator; a member of the Standing Conference of Mediation Advocates, UK (“SCMA”); a SCMA Certified Mediation Advocacy Trainer; and member, and advisory board member, of SCMA Nigeria.  Apart from his private practice in Mediation and Mediation Advocacy, which focuses on Energy (Oil and Gas), Joint Ventures, Property (Landlord & Tenant, and title disputes), and Work Place Mediation, he is on the Panel of Neutrals of the Lagos Multi Door Court House (“LMDC”).  He is also a lecturer on the faculty of the NCMG/Unilag College of Negotiation and a member of the Dispute Resolution Panel of the Nigerian Electricity Regulation Commission (“NERC”).

He has handled numerous mediations, and facilitated negotiations, and has had notable success and recognition as a credible mediator, mediation advocate, negotiator, bridge builder and peacemaker.  He is a ‘Yemi is also a regular speaker and facilitator at conferences, seminars and workshops.

‘Yemi Akisanya obtained the LL.B, with honours, from the University of Lagos, Nigeria in 1976 and an LL.M, in 1979, from the London School of Economics and Political Science.  He was called to the Nigerian Bar in July 1977 and enrolled as a Notary Public in October 2011.

Yemi retired voluntarily, in March 2002, from Mobil Producing Nigeria (ExxonMobil’s main Nigerian Oil Exploration & Producing operating company, and is presently engaged in private law practice as Principal of Adeyemi-Akisanya Associates, a highly skilled and service oriented boutique law firm with specialized expertise in: Energy; Dispute Resolution Advisory & Practice (Mediation, Mediation Advocacy, Work Place Mediation & Conflict Management); and Corporate Commercial Transactions.

His memberships include: member, Nigerian Bar Association [Section on Business Law]; member, the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators; member, the Petroleum Club, Lagos, Nigeria; and member, Trustee, and the Honorary Secretary, of the Musical Society of Nigeria.
