Patrick Umeh, Commissioner, Finance and Management Services, until his appointment to the Commission, worked for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP), the largest public electric utility in the United States.
He spent the last fifteen of his twenty-two year career with the company working in the Rates and Regulations, Project Management, and Marketing divisions, where he managed and provided advice to the governing body of the LADWP. Umeh's mandate while working with LADWP covered Rules and Regulation Governing electric and water services in the City of Los Angeles.
His education both in Nigeria and the United States coupled with his international experience and exposure in the utility industry will assist the Commission in benchmarking its operations with international best practices.
