Muhammed Lawal Bello is a metallurgical engineering graduate from ABU, Zaria. Until his appointment as Vice Chairman, NERC, he was actively involved in the Oil, Telecoms and Power industries.
In 2000, he established the only Nigerian company involved in coring for the oil industry. He was Chairman of the Robinson Int. Inspections, one of the three companies contracted in 1996 to carry out export Pre-shipment inspections of all commercial goods including oil for three years. He also had a rare opportunity to serve in the Project Management Team as a young engineer working in NNPC for Escravos-Warri Pipeline Project in Rome between 1987-1988.
The exposure to detailed engineering, procurement, financial and project management is still valuable to him. He was also Chairman NITEL-MTEL between 2003-2004.
He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School.
