The Commission


The Electric Power Sector Reform Act 2005 , provides for the tenured appointment of seven Commissioners, with one of them designated as Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, and another as Vice Chairman. The Commissioners are nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate.



At present the Commission is headed by Dr Sam Amadi (profile)  who is the Chairman/CEO.


Other Commissioners are;

Muhammed Lawal Bello (profile) - Vice Chairman/ Commissioner, Renewable Energy, Research & Development.

Mr Patrick Umeh (profile) - Commissioner, Finance & Management Services.

Dr Steven Andzenge  (profile) - Commissioner Legal, Licensing & Enforcement..

Engr. Mary Eniola Awolokun (profile) - Commissioner, Engineering, Standards & Safety.

Dr Abba Armiya'u Ibrahim (profile) - Commissioner, Goverment & Consumer Affairs.

Mr Ekpo Olagoke Eyo (profile) - Commissioner, Markets, Competition & Rates.
