The Commission

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) was established via the Electric Power Sector Reform Act, 2005 to regulate the provision of Safe, affordable, reliable and efficient power supply to Nigerians.

A new set of Commissioners were inaugurated to oversee the affairs of the Commission on 7TH February, 2017 as follows:

  • Engr. Sanusi Garba - Vice –Chairman, Commissioner, Market Competition and Rates
  • Dr Musiliu Olalekan Oseni - Commissioner, Renewable Energy Research and Development
  • Professor Frank Okafor - Commissioner, Engineering Standard and Safety
  • Nathan Rogers Shatti - Commissioner, Finance and Management Services
  • Dr. Moses Arigu - Commissioner, Consumer Affairs
  • Dafe Akpeneye - Commissioner, Legal Licensing and Enforcement
